With the proliferation of decks, pergolas and outdoor living spaces, the choice of fabrics – plains and patterns – has kept up with the trend.
The only fabric that is completely waterproof is vinyl. Most other outdoor fabrics are water resistant, which means that in the event of an expected heavy downpour, you should try and move the items undercover.
Water releasing foams should also be used to assist in the drying out of the pieces.
Leather is not water resistant, though you could be forgiven for thinking you have seen outdoor leather furniture. Vinyl is stamped to look like leather and have a similar texture, and is a great option for those wanting that leather look.
The range of colours and patterns available in outdoor fabric now is inspiring. From geometrics, to florals, Florence Broadhurst to traditional stripes, the choice may be harder than you think!
